In an update on social media, Marongo characterized the experience as a ‘life-changing’ opportunity, noting that the gesture left him feeling humbled.
“I am deeply grateful to @batakenya for the life-changing opportunity to wear closed shoes for the first time. This experience means more to me than words can express, and I truly appreciate your support. I look forward to the possibility of working together on more meaningful projects in the future,” he wrote.
As earlier reported on EAFeed, Marongo shared that he was born and raised in Majengo, Vihiga County, and has been living in Nairobi for over two years.
Marongo added that before fame, he worked as a ‘kamagera’ for Nairobi buses travelling to the western part of the country.
He further discussed his physical appearance and personal life, disclosing that he is 27 years old and wears shoe size 48.
Marongo also talked about fame that he has earned since his videos started going viral on different social media platforms.
He was first spotted during the anti-finance bill demonstrations.
“Since then everything has been okay. I want to be known that way. Were it not for the fame, I wouldn’t be here right now,” he said.
Marongo also shared challenges that he encounters including difficulty in finding the right size of shoes and clothes.
“Getting clothes is hard. Even when I’m going shopping I have a hard time because people would swarm me wondering where this tall man has come from,” he shared.
