The Kenya Power & Lighting Company Limited (Kenya Power) has announced scheduled power blackouts in seven counties.
In a circular shared on their official social media platforms, the power distributor said the blackouts are meant allow maintenances.
The counties affected are Kiambu County, Nakuru County, Kisumu County, Nyeri County, Embu County, Meru County and Kwale County.
Kiambu County
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Affected Areas: Mwimuto, Wangige, Kessel Homes, Gathiga, Njonjos Farm, Epic Apartments and adjacent customers.
Nakuru County
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.
Affected Areas: Whole of Egerton University, Bliss Flora, Kenya Highlands, Sojomni Flowers, Mwigito, Njokerio, Uwanja Ndege, Biston, Naiswet and adjacent customers.
Kisumu County
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.
Affected Areas: Kibos Market, KPA, Kibos School, KIRDI, Rice Mill, Elgons, Still Mill Side, Tido, Victoria Fish Farm, Kongaya Market, Mbeme, Ooko Market, Rarieda, Kaloo, Renja School, Kolewe Market and adjacent customers.
Nyeri County
Time: 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Affected Areas: Ihithe, Ihithe Secondary & Primary Schools, Mukarara, Gahuthi Water Pump, Kiamutiga, Gatherere, Hohoini PCEA, Hubuini, Kina TBC, Kahuro PCEA and adjacent customers.
Embu County
Time: 8:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.

Meru County

Other affected areas are Royal Prince, Bradegate, Equity Bank Town, Prestige Hotel, ABSA Bank, Hart Towers, ABC Bank, Co-op Bank, Magunas Supermarket, Maathai Supermarket, Society Sacco Supermarket, Central, KCB & Family Banks, Meru Central, Diamond Trust, Gakoromone Market, Kirunga Shell Petrol Station, Mwariama Station, Mwalimu Mixed, Meru Girls, Kiambogo Factory, Thimangiri Market, Mulathankari and Thuura Factory.
