ODM members who were picked for CS positions are Opiyo Wandayi, Hassan Joho, Wycliffe Oparanya and John Mbadi.
Speaking in an event on Friday, July 26, Kalonzo declared that he is ready to challenge Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
“Hata William Ruto anajua Kalonzo atakua mpinzani wake. Hiyo nayo anajua. Hata kuna wengine na tutaanguka nayo. Hatutaachilia,” he said.
Elsewhere, Kalonzo mentioned that he is not interested in any Attorney General position.
He said that he has not received any offers to that effect. He added that he has previously served as Vice President, a position that is higher than an AG.
He added that he is also not interested.
“Nobody has offered any position to me or to Wiper. That thing about Attorney General is a mirage. I may be senior counsel which is okay, maybe that’s the attraction but this guy has been vice president of the republic and has been minister in many portfolios, do you expect me serve to serve Ruto as Attorney General? I think he’s expecting too much,” he said.
Kalonzo was responding to remarks that he would be appointed to the Cabinet to fill one of the two vacant slots left by Ruto.
