Gachagua made the claims during a roundtable interview with vernacular media stations athis official residence in Karen.
The DP blatantly stated that Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri and Kibet are the biggest enemies of the Mt Kenya region.
“Farouk Kibet and Mwangi Kiunjuri are the greatest enemies of Mt Kenya region,” he said.
Additionally, as earlier reported on EAFeed, Gachagua claimed that unknown gunmen attempted to assassinate one of his staff.
Speaking during a roundtable discussion with vernacular stations, the DP stated that the victim was shot in the shoulder and suffered an injury.
Gachagua said that the single gunman, who was riding a motorcycle, intended to shoot the staffer in the head, but a swift dash saved his life.
He claimed that the employee, who was formerly assigned to the National Intelligence Service (NIS), was transferred to his office to assist the second-in-command in his war against illicit brew.
“So that they can sell me dread, while that officer was leaving his home in Kileleshwa, someone on a motorcycle shot at him, but the bullet missed his head and struck his shoulder. He spent one week in a Nairobi hospital when the bullet was removed,” he said.
Gachagua also said that President William Ruto was uninformed of the attempted murder and he contacted to inform him.
He further complained that, despite reporting the incident, the attempted assassins had yet to be apprehended.
“When 13 officers were dismissed from NIS and sent to work in ministries, I looked for one of them, who was very senior in Nairobi, to work for me and help me in the fight against illicit brews.
“The President did not know. I’m the one that told him. When those individuals were questioned, they began babbling. To date, the people (assassins) who were deployed on motorcycles have never been apprehended,” he stated.
