Gertrude attended Milimani primary school for her primary school level of education before she joined St Hannah Girls High School. Upon successful completion, she enrolled for a Mass Communication degree at St. Pauls University.

Her detailed narration including interviews with the train staff attracted thousands of viewers amassing over 100,000 views. Miss Trudy had inspired more content creators to jump into the SGR content but had already attracted several new subscribers and viewers.

Additionally, her collaborations with big names in Kenya’s entertainment industry such as socialite Vera Sidika and entrepreneur Betty Kyalo increased her exposure online. Her YouTube channel is highly engaging providing varied content material. These include travel vlogs, African Village videos, house tours, and restaurant reviews. Miss Trudy has done house tours with millionaires in Kenya, travel videos around Africa to countries including Burundi, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Singapore, Tanzania, Uganda, the USA, and Ghana. During her trip to Ethiopia, she met Ghanianian Wode Maya who would later become her boyfriend, travel partner, and content creator ally.
