Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua recently expressed his love for his Mercedes Benz and his preference for personally driving it.

He elaborated that this choice is rooted in his profound appreciation for German-engineered automobiles, especially the Mercedes Benz.
Gachagua emphasized that the car’s efficiency and dependability instill him with complete assurance while driving.
“I am a fan of your car, Mercedes Benz. It is a car that I don’t allow my driver to drive, and I drive it myself because vehicles from Germany are tested, efficient, and last long,” he said.
Gachagua perceives the vehicle as more than mere luxury; he regards it as a representation of quality, resilience, and comfort.
He asserts that the technology of the German automobile manufacturer is well-established and reliable, appealing to numerous Kenyans who prioritize value in their acquisitions.
Additionally, Gachagua expressed a personal affinity for his Mercedes, which further explains his strong attachment to it.
Gachagua has declared his net worth to be Sh800 million.
He asserts that the money he possesses is well documented, as he accumulated it during the tenure of former President Mwai Kibaki when the Kenyan economy was thriving.
He previously claimed that the Ksh 200 million which was frozen was gathered from various sources over the years, including Ksh 64 million from his time working at the Ministry of Lands and Settlement, Ksh 10 million from Kenya Power, Ksh 33 million during his tenure at the Ministry of Livestock and Ksh 46 million from an organization called Batek.
Gachagua insists that the freezing of his funds by the courts was a sudden action taken after the Jubilee administration attempted to persuade him to abandon his support for President William Ruto.
He argues that the government’s move came after he refused to distance himself from Ruto following the fallout between the Deputy President and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
