“Mr deputy president, you are welcome to Kisii. Don’t fear. Work together with the president, but if you start bringing him problems on the other side, we as ODM are ready to walk with him,” he remarked.
Arati expressed additional gratitude to Ruto for including ODM members in his cabinet, assuring him that the party led by Raila Odinga will maintain its support for him.
“You know the other day I was given the position of deputy party leader of ODM. We thank you president because you came to ODM and hired people to work with you
“And I want to assure you as the deputy party leader that we will continue supporting you. I want to plead with leaders to put aside political divisions and work with the president,” he said.
Gachagua revealed that his visits to Kisii County have been infrequent due to a lack of agreement with the governor.
Nevertheless, he stated that they have reconciled and reached a mutual understanding to collaborate moving forward.
“I have not been to Kisii County very often because we could not agree with Simba Arati in the past. But today we agree. We sat down and agreed to work together,” he said.
