However, she decided to decline it because she foresaw the potential to earn more by venturing into the world of content creation.
“That time when I joined I think they were paying me Sh. 25k and he said, you know this is a probation salary and they said they were going to push my salary up to Sh. 70k but that did not faze me at all. I knew I was leaving. Funny thing, mind you I was leaving for nothing!” Joanna recalled.
She explained that her ambition was not based on financial fulfillment but rather on prioritizing personal fulfillment over conventional job security.
“I was going to pursue this creative thing without even knowing if people were making money from it. But I knew I did not want that job, and I wanted to pursue content creation. So I turned down Sh. 70k at that time.”
Currently, Joanna is the founder and CEO of Joanna K Cosmetics, boasting over 236,000 followers on Instagram and more than 150,000 subscribers on YouTube. Her engaging content includes makeup tutorials and day-to-day life experiences.
In a past interview, Joanna also revealed that quitting the 8-to-5 job made her one of the leading entrepreneurs, earning millions of shillings.
