Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, the primary suspect in the murders of at least 42 women whose remains were found in a quarry in Kware has escaped from the Gigiri Police Station.

On Tuesday, at approximately 5:00 AM, Police Constable Gerald Mutuku, responsible for overseeing the facility, conducted a routine inspection of the cells with the canteen manager to provide breakfast to the detainees.
However, upon opening the cell door, they were taken aback to find that all 13 suspects had escaped by cutting through the wire mesh in the basking area.
Jumaisi was in custody, awaiting his court appearance for a plea hearing.
The Sub-county Police Commander, Sub-County Criminal Investigation Officer (SCCIO) and duty officer Gigiri arrived at the location and have initiated investigations to identify the suspects.
The individual in question gained notoriety after admitting to the murder of no fewer than 42 women, whose bodies he disposed of in Kware between 2022 and 2024.
He alleged that his initial victim was his spouse, whom he strangled and dismembered before discarding her remains at a waste site.
Subsequently, the suspect asserted that law enforcement personnel subjected him to torture, compelling him to confess to the homicides.
