Dr. Mulunda obtained his first Bachelors’ degree in Education Mathematics & Economics from Egerton University. He also pursued a higher Diploma course in Human Resource Management from the same University.
Mulunda holds a PhD in Human Resources Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology and Masters of Business Administration -Human Resources Management from University of Nairobi.

Rumors have rented the air that Dr. Mulunda is the current appointee at the Teachers’ Service Commission to assume the office in June. The commission has however not clarified on the issue, keeping in mind the the current CEO Dr. Nancy Njeri Macharia has served the Commission for a longer period. Nancy’s fate to either remain in the commission or exit is yet to be decided.
