Marongo adds that he works as a ‘kamagera’ for Nairobi buses travelling to the western part of the country.
He further discussed his physical appearance and personal life, disclosing that he is 27 years old and wears shoe size 48.
Marongo also talked about fame that he has earned since his videos started going viral on different social media platforms.
He was first spotted during the anti-finance bill demonstrations.
“Since then everything has been okay. I want to be known that way. Were it not for the fame, I wouldn’t be here right now,” he said.
Marongo also shared challenges that he encounters including difficulty in finding the right size of shoes and clothes.
“Getting clothes is hard. Even when I’m going shopping I have a hard time because people would swarm me wondering where this tall man has come from,” he shared.
Marongo explained that for something like shoes, he must give the manufacturer a customized order for him to get shoes of his choice.
“I have never worn shoes in my life,” he said.
He has a wife and two children.
Extreme height
Genetics is the primary determinant of height, accounting for about 80% of a person’s final stature.
Certain genetic conditions, such as Sotos syndrome, Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome, and Weaver syndrome, can lead to gigantism and result in abnormal growth patterns.
Hormonal disorders also play a significant role in height.
An imbalance, particularly excessive production of growth hormone (GH) by the pituitary gland, can stimulate rapid growth, leading to conditions such as gigantism in children.
This hormonal influence can cause individuals to grow taller than average.
Additionally, early puberty can affect height.
Children who experience precocious puberty, characterized by an abnormally early rise in sex hormone levels, may have early growth spurts that initially make them taller than their peers.
However, this can lead to their skeletons maturing more rapidly, causing them to stop growing at an earlier age and potentially resulting in average or below-average height as adults.
While genetics and hormonal factors are the primary drivers of extreme height, environmental influences such as good nutrition and regular exercise can help optimize growth potential during childhood and adolescence.
However, these factors alone cannot account for someone being extremely tall.
