Cost of replacing lost KCPE and KCSE certificates
KNEC has announced a new, simpler approach for Kenyans who have lost their KCPE and KCSE certificates to request for replacements.
According to recent changes, Kenyans who have misplaced their credentials will be able to apply online, defying the customary practice of seeking approval from several government departments.
According to KNEC, during the application procedure, one must present various crucial papers before paying a processing charge of Ksh 5,220.
The following documents are necessary for the exercise, a copy of the lost certificate/result slip a copy of the Identity Card (ID), a passport size photo.and a police abstract.
How to replace lost KCPE and KCSE certificates
Follow the steps below to replace a lost KCSE or KCPE certificate online;
Step 1: Register an account at https://qmis.knec.ac.ke
Step 2: Login with the credentials sent to your email
Step 3: Select the Lost Certificate option from the menu
Step 4: Fill in the Index number, type of exam and year, then click FIND
Step 5: Attach a copy of the lost certificate/result slip, both sides of your ID, passport size photo, police abstract and confirmation from the registrar of person
Step 6: Submit the application and wait for verification of the application
After submitting the application, you will receive an SMS notification to log in and make a payment of Ksh 5,220 and wait for your application to be processed.
Once the process is complete, you will receive an SMS notification to collect your certification letter from the KNEC offices.
