Hellen Muthoni also known as Muthoni wa Muthoni wa Mukiri is a talented Kenyan gospel artist and TV host. She is widely known for being the host of Inooro TV’s Rurumeke Show that airs every Sunday.

Hellen Muthoni Family and Childhood
Hellen is the second born in a family of two children. She has 2 sisters and one brother. Growing up, she was the cheeky kid whereas her elder sister was quite introverted.
She was also an active child who fell victim to a number of her parents’ traps and would get a good beating afterwards. She grew up in the village of Matimbei in Kiambu County where they did normal village activities such as cattle keeping, farming and milking.

Hell broke loose for Hellen and her immediate family after her father lost his life in the Nairobi bomb blast in the year 1998. Immediately they learnt of the sad news, his dad’s family chased them away, forcing them to seek refuge at her grandmother’s place. Her mother fell into depression since this meant betrayal and an end to the good life they were once used to.

Hellen went to Matimbei Primary School in Kiambu County where he studied till class 5 where she changed schools to a boarding school in Limuru. After completing her primary school education, she went to St.Luke’s High School for her secondary school education.

Hellen Muthoni Career
After finishing school, Hellen was so passionate about doing acting as a career. She then did a number plays in Kikuyu with production companies such as Fanaka and Johari Productions. The scripts were handed to her in English and her task was to read, translate and internalize it before she appeared on stage to play her part.
She then got a chance to be a Kikuyu voice-over artist at Kameme FM, which is a Kikuyu vernacular radio station. Hellen currently works as a news anchor at Royal Media Services’ Inooro TV.

Unknown to many, besides being a media personality, Hellen is also a talented gospel artiste. She sings in Agikuyu where some of her albums include Nuu Wi Hinya, Ndathima and Ni Ngweteriere. She collaborated with gospel artist Mercy Masika on a song known as Ndimugure, meaning I am redeemed.
