The October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) is an institution of higher learning in Egypt established in 1996 offering high quality higher education to the students in Egypt. MSA has nine operational faculties of Sciences and Arts.
Despite being set up on a 50-acre piece of land, the institution has developed an online learning system that allows students watch lecture videos, consult with instructors in chat rooms and carry out normal university activities virtually.
To ensure a successful and effective means of learning online, MSA developed student zones crafted for each faculty to enable students access course material, grades and to offer a communication means between learners and their instructors. The October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) has nine faculties to which students belong. These faculties are:

- Mass Communication
- Management Sciences
- Languages
- Engineering
- Dentistry
- Computer Science
- Biotechnology
- Arts and Design
All the faculties have online or e-learning provisions that enable students continue with their programs regardless of location. MSA student zones require a student’s unique ID with a password to secure their account in order to access materials such as publications, class recordings, announcements, course grades, timetables and schedules.
MSA student zones are offered as part of the institution’s student services and thus have the learner’s best interest in mind and allows for feedback to be sent to the server for improvement where need be. Online learning in MSA is governed by set rules and regulations that ensure smooth running of activities for students and instructors. Students are required to log into class a few minutes before the official time for starting, keep cameras off unless instructed to, avoid typing in all uppercase which is considered a writing equivalent of shouting, and to always raise their hands for any interruptions. They must not share unnecessary content or use pseudo names on the online platform.
