As a result, Murira issued a statement in a bid to save her brand from controversies that would possibly cost her brand deals and endorsements.
Taking to her Instagram page, she said the video was fake and shared social media handles of the lady in the viral video.
“It has come to my attention that there are pictures and videos circulating online purportedly showing me in compromising situations. I want to assure you that these images and videos are not mine. This is false information,” she wrote.
Adding;
“I sincerely apologize for any distress or confusion this may have caused. Your support means the world to me and I’m committed to maintaining your trust and respect.”
In March 2023, Murira disclosed she made Ksh 3.4 million shillings from the video-creating platform in just five months.
She made the revelation during a segment of QnA session with her Instagram followers when a curious netizen asked her about her income from the app,
“How much do you earn? Like the monthly income through TikTok?” the unidentified Instagram user asked. To which Murira replied by sharing a screenshot from her app indicating her gift revenue.
According to the screenshot the content creator had accumulated over 6.8 diamonds and more were to be updated once earnings from her previous live video had been processed.
“It has been 1 year now, divide the diamonds by 2 and that is the money I have earned from my live TikTok videos. Mind you I have been streaming for only 5 months now,” she wrote.
Murira went on to highlight that one can make money both directly from the app and also from working with brands and companies.
