For her early education, Winnie went to Rusinga school and later went to Brookhouse High School. She then went to the University of Philadelphia where she attained a degree in International Business and Corporate Communication.

In an earlier interview with the standard, Winnie shared that she works for her father as his bodyguard, briefcase carrier, transport companion, and sometimes driver. She is also into photography as she had started a photography business while still in school.

On multiple occasions, the 31-year-old has been asked if she plans on becoming a politician like her father. Winnie has always answered No, explaining that she does not think it would suit her since she does not believe in a political career but in those who choose to be politicians as they see a gap they can fit in.

Winnie Odinga is a family lady who is close to her family. She was born to Raila Amolo Odinga to Mama Ida Odinga. She is the youngest among four; the Late Fidel Odinga, Rosemary Odinga, and Raila Odinga. Winnie spent most of her childhood alone since her siblings were a lot older than she was.
