Kenyan entrepreneur Nthenya Macharia has been named the first female board chair of the international Christian organization Youth For Christ.

She took over from former chairperson Howard Stevenson after an election on May 3, 2024, during a Youth for Christ International Board meeting.

She joined Youth For Christ in her teens and has been an active member ever since. Nthenya joined the organization’s board in 2016 and became the vice chair in 2018, a position she earned through her commitment and vision.
The Youth For Christ Organization was founded in 1940 in the United States of America and is a worldwide Christian movement working with young people, whose main purpose is evangelism among teenagers.
