Singer Esther Akoth, alias Akothee has recently been open about her relationship with Nelly Oaks, whom she says is the love of her life and the man who helped her career to its current heights.

As such, fans feel Akothee has found the right man to settle down with, which may explain her recent weight increase, which some attribute to ‘too much happiness’ or baby number 6.
However, Akothee addressed this on her social media pages, humorously asking her supporters not to bewitch her, mistaking her bulging abdomen for a child.
According to the singer, the pregnancy curve-like appearance was only a product of being bloated, as she was not pregnant as previously supposed.
“Yooooo wachawi, it’s not a pregnancy, we are blotted. Msiniroge,” she wrote on Instagram.
Failed marriage
In November 2023, Akothee confirmed that her marriage to Denis ‘Omosh’ Schweizer is over.
She confirmed the claims that have been spreading for a long time during a live session with her fans on social media.
In the live session, Akothee said that she walked out of her short-lived marriage back in June, when she and Omosh were on honeymoon.
“I have moved on from it. It does not exist anymore. I want to tell you that I walked out of that relationship back in June. I will, however, not go into details
“I did enjoy my marriage; I enjoyed my wedding. I don’t regret anything. I did my wedding on my birthday, just in case things went wrong, as they have done, I would not have any regrets,” she said.
Akothee hinted that she left her marriage when they were enjoying their honeymoon after learning a couple of things that she did not know before.
She, however, pointed out that she did not tell the white man from Switzerland about her decision immediately, and she even lied to him and said that she wouldn’t leave him.
“I walked out of the relationship back in June. I normally walk out of my relationships while I am still in them. When we were on honeymoon, I found out some things that I could not cope with. Then he asked me, “Will you leave me?” I said, “No, honey, I love you”. When I was leaving Switzerland in July, at the airport, he asked me, “Will you leave me?, I said “No, honey, I love you”. But for sure, I had already left,” she added.
Akothee made it clear that she was single, noting that at no time will she ever allow a man to affect her psychologically.
“I’m a person who does not force issues. When it is not working for me, even if it is working for you, it is just not working. The reason I don’t stay in toxic relationships or relationships that I do not understand is because my money is in my head. The moment I allow any man to mess up with my head, then he is messing up with my pocket
“I will not apologise for anything if the relationship does not work for me. It did not work. It worked for a few days, but when the mask fell, I could not be there. What was I staying there for? By the time you never saw Denis on my social media accounts, it was the time I was managing my exit,” she explained.
