Kenyan YouTuber Miss Trudy has addressed claims that she is divorcing her Ghanaian husband, YouTuber Wode Maya.

In an update on YouTube, Miss Trudy explained that she had to issue a statement because of the hate and slander directed towards Maya.
She said statements she made in a previous podcast were taken out of context, making her marriage seem like it was not working out.
The divorce claims started when Miss Trudy was asked if he spends time with Maya to which she said no, with fans and social media commentators saying she is not happy.
“I said no because I wanted to be honest, we don’t spend time together because he travels and I also end up travelling,” she said.
Miss Trudy explained that while she maintains to always be truthful about her life, she doesn’t want her honesty to be the reason Maya is viewed as a wicked person.
“I wouldn’t have done this video were it not for how Maya is being attacked online… I feel like you guys care about me but at the same time I think that you got it wrong,” she said.
She also denied claims that Maya was a narcissist, claiming that he is one of the sweetest people she has ever been around.
“Maya is not perfect and so am I. I just want you guys to be kind when dealing with Maya; have that in mind and understand that we are two different people from two different cultures and our marriage is not perfect,” she said.
Finally, on claims that she is getting a divorce from Maya, Miss Trudy dismissed the claims, noting that she would love to grow old with her husband.
“I don’t want to get a divorce, when I got married, I knew I wanted to be in my marriage until the end. I wanna grow old with Maya and I don’t want to look anywhere else,” she stated.
In December 2023, Miss Trudy issued a statement urging people to ease off on her husband amid her month-long break from content creation.
She expressed her concern about fans blaming him for her absence.
In the video, Miss Teudy defended her husband, describing him as ‘the sweetest guy out there’ and urged fans to approach him with politeness.
“You’ve been on Maya’s case attacking him, sending him messages all over social media asking what have you done to Miss Trudy, and that’s sweet, but you guys also don’t understand that Maya is the sweetest guy out there,” she said.
Miss Trudy emphasized that her husband has nothing to do with her decision to take a break from YouTube.
She explained that her hiatus has been a period of self-reflection and personal growth, assuring her audience that the changes she experienced during her break would be reflected in her upcoming content.
“You guys know I have always been consistent, but it gets to a time in life when you just need to breathe. So I had to go away, and while I was away, I have done a lot of soul-searching. Expect different content, and I am also evolving; things need to change,” she explained.
