For class eight candidates who would like a spot in Muhoho High School, one must have passed their KCPE very well since admissions to an extra-county school are very competitive. The school is a public institution and therefore admissions are done by the Ministry of Education.

Parents of KCPE candidates and the candidates are also allowed to visit the school and ask for information on available vacancies. Some students have joined the school after form 1 due to transfers, thus an interested candidate should be on the lookout for such openings.
