Nadia Mwendo Mukami is a rapidly budding Kenyan songwriter, singer, vocalist, and performing artist. Her career and love for music started when she was still in school. The songbird could write poetry and present them in modern Afro-pop style.

Nadia is 24 years old as of the year 2020. She was born on November 9th, 1996 in Pumwani hospital in Nairobi in a family of five siblings. She was later brought up in a staunch Christian family background. Nadia is half Kamba and half Embu by tribe.

The songwriter attended Kari Primary School and did her final exams in the year 2009. She was later admitted at Mount Laverna School in Kasarani, Nairobi. In high school education, she did well too and joined Maseno University in Kisumu County for her degree in Finance option.

Nadia was born in a family of singers; her dour other siblings are singers too. When Nadia began her music career, her parents did not believe in her. When she did record several songs, the songs took won many fans’ hearts and exposed her to limelight. At this point her parents started realizing her seriousness to choose music as her favorite career.
“When I began singing, my parents, particularly my dad, we’re disinclined to allow me to seek a career in music. It was till they witnessed me on TV that they resolved to give it a chance and now they are one of my greatest supporters.” Nadia said on an interview with a local daily.

The songbird started singing at the age 18, after turnabout from poetry and writing. Her father used to love listening to the taarab music. This gave Nadia an inspiration to write songs inform of poetry. Among the songwriters that her father used to listen from were mostly Tanzania artistes such as Ray C.
Nadia wrote, recorded her first song Barua Ya Siri in the year 2015. At that time, she was still a student at Maseno University. Her second song Kesi is the one that was her turning point. The song gained more popularity and became a hit of the moment. The song made her to win opportunities to perform at various Kenyan Platforms such as Blaze (which took part in Kisumu), The Nile Festival, The Luo Festival etc.
The songbird decided to attend Kipawa Show auditions which was a talent search show that used to air on KTN. At Kipawa, she emerged the winner. She later secured a direct ticket to go straight away to the finals of Jenga Talanta show. A popular record label Hailemind Entertainment officially signed her and is seeing her release various hits.
Some of Nadia Mukami’s songs include Ikamate Hiyo, Lola, Radio Love in which he featured Arrowboy, Yule Yule, African Lover, Sio Juju, Si Rahisi and Kesi. She is now working on more and more hits to be unveiled soon. The award-winning singer is also working on collaborations in which she will soon feature artistes from Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and Rwanda.

Nadia prefers to keep matters that touching her direct personal life a secret. She has therefore not publicly declared the lucky man. The singer is however rumored to have dated Arrow Bwoy but she came out, clarified the issue by rubbishing off the rumors. Among her songs she wrote, African Lover and Yule Yule are alleged to have been written for Arrow Bwoy.

Nadia has recently announced that she is taking a social media break after a fan accused her to be a scammer. The fan took it on a Kenyan popular Facebook group claiming that Nadia breached her contract. Nadia however rubbished them as lies and announced her social media break.
“Am writing this with tears in my eyes and they are already swollen coz of crying! I know they say I am a public figure, I need not to show emotions; I will show my emotions!!! There isn’t an insult I haven’t received!! All levels of explicit insults,”
“This has been a month of one heartache after another, I swear I have broken down! I am always the strongest among my friends; they say God doesn’t give you something you can’t handle, I wish he didn’t trust me this much every time!! Am (sic) taking a break, I will be back,” Nadia Posted.
