He got a decent education that propelledhim to go to the prestigious St John’s College, Cambridge, where he pursued a learning in Modern theater.
Later, after his graduation, he traveled to Hamburg where he attended the German National Theatre for a year. Upon his return to motherland, Simon took up the stage name “Paul Ritter” who he said was a great inspiration to him and, also because his real name “Simon Adams” was already registered by a different actor with the acting trade union.

After graduating from German National Theatre, Paul set off his career with stage acting. He commenced this career by gracing the esteemed Bush theatre in 1994, where he acted in one of his earliest plays known as “Darwin’s Blood”. During that time,Paul did a lot of stage acting and frequented many theatres including but not limited to the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford.

Consequently, he appeared on many other great shows where he continued to flourish as an actor. He stars prominently in the historical drama tv series “Chernobyl” as Anatoly Dyatlov in 2018 and most recently before his death, he was on the comedy show “Friday Night Dinner”
