The new cabinet secretary went to Bondeni High School in Nakuru, Nakuru day secondary school, and later Nyandarua High School for his secondary school education. He went to Moi University where he studied BSc in Information Science.
In 2015, he enrolled for a Master’s in Public Administration at Mt. Kenya University. He has also completed courses at the Kenya School of Government.
Career
Njeru’s career kicked off in 1995 as a sales admin at DT Dobbie, before he shifted to hawk insurance policies. Between 1998 to 2000, he served as an executive at Madison Insurance in Eldoret. He later moved to Meru to become a branch manager at BlueShield.

He was later promoted to become the company’s regional manager, Rift Valley between 2003 and 2007 before he decided to get into politics.
Politics
Since 2015, Zachariah Mwangi had been a sub-county administrator in Nakuru county. He is now the first full cabinet minister from Nakuru county. Njeru was a nominated councilor in the Municipal council of Nakuru between 2008 and 2013. During this time, he served as chair finance and general purpose committee.
In 2010, Njeru was elected chairman of the public health and AIDS committee of the council.
