He is a self- proclaimed prophet that claims that he has ever gone to heaven and came face-to-face with God, ‘I have seen God and I will be answerable to Him. I do not get into people’s faces; they come to me…I am not a pastor that I should frequently be with the sheep. As a prophet, I decree the final thing,’ he said.
He once stated that the reason as to why he leads a very affluent life is because he has been to heaven and the place is glamorous. He therefore sees no need to lead a poor life here on earth.
‘Hell is stuffy, poor, sickly and degrading. I have been to heaven and it is a glamorous place with streets of gold. All attributes about God are glamour and beauty and I am of God, so I will unapologetically be always on the side of what is rich. I have heard shallow debates where politicians defend themselves for being in air- conditioned cars. You want me to be in a car where I sweat?’ Said Prophet Mbonye.
He claims to have prophesied the 2004 Asian Tsunami but he only told his close friends. He had a function where VIP tickets costed $300 dollars whereas normal tickets costed $100 dollars.

Prophet Elvis Mbonye Police Interrogation on Mass Immunization
In 2019, Prophet Mbonye was interrogated by the police for three hours on allegations of informing the public on mass immunization exercise of Polio, measles as well as Rubella. He was summoned over DE campaigning the national immunization drive. The CID spokesperson, Mr. Charles Mansio Twine was contacted on the issue where he indicated that Mbonye faced cases of sabotaging government programmes and other offences as provided for in the 2017 immunization Act.
On October 9 and October 10, 2019, Mugisha Elvis Mbonye had posted on his Facebook account, ‘The current vaccination really disinformed.’ According to Section 23 of the Immunization Act, it is an offense for anyone to publish misleading information about vaccines. That is, ‘a person shall not make, cause to be made or publish any misleading statement or information regarding the use or effect of any vaccines.’
