Rachael Mayanja got her first degree (Bachelor of Laws LLB) from Makerere university, she also studied at law development center where she obtained a diploma in legal practice. She advanced her studies at Harvard university where she obtained master of laws degree.
Work and experience
She is currently A United Nations employee. She joined the UN from 19th June 1975 up to 2nd July 1975 serving as a special assistant to the assistant secretary general for social development and humanitarian affairs.
Still in the united nations, Mayanja served for one year (1989 to 1990) on a peacekeeping mission to Namibia (UNTAG). Her work was to oversee the elections leading to independence.
Between 1992 to 1994, she was sent on a un mission to Iraq/Kuwait to provide administrative support to the observer mission.
