The award-winning Tv anchor is the third born of four siblings in his family of two boys and two girls. His father is the former famous Provincial Commissioner Peter Raburu who is now a pastor in Kisumu County.
Willis Raburu Education and Career Background
The citizen TV journalist went to Aga Khan Primary school in Kisumu City. He later joined Chemelil Academy High where he performed well in his KCSE exams. In his high school endeavors, he faced many challenges; at one point he lacked pocket money which forced him to fetch water for other students. After clearing his high school studies, Willis joined Moi University for a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science.
Willis’ father had wanted him to pursue IT but Willis had a passion for Media. It compelled him to lie to his father that he was studying IT but in real sense he chose Media option. His father realized about Willis’ course during graduation ceremony that took place in Eldoret in the year 2010.

While at Moi University, Willis joined Mediamax’s K24 as an intern. After clearing his campus studies, he got a job in October 2010 at Royal Media Services where he works till now.
“When I was 24 and I got hired by Citizen Television straight out of campus – that was a very pivotal point in my life. Many did not believe that one can get employed at a reputable organization without having ‘key’ connections. The job came at a time when I had been turned down by other local TV stations – they told me I did not have the right type of voice for broadcast,” he said.
He currently hosts citizen tv’s morning show on weekdays and also is the captain of 10 Over 10 entertainment show which airs each and every Friday on citizen TV from 10:00pm. Furthermore, he hosts the mid-morning show on Hot 96 radio station.

The humorous Willis made news back in the year 2014 when he proposed to his girlfriend Sally Mbilu.
“It was at a waterfall, where we had our first date. She was extremely shocked and had mixed reactions, but I was very confident that she would say yes,” Willis talked about the incident.

He later parted ways with his girlfriend in 2016, a circumstance that led to Sally returning the Kshs.100,000 ring that Willis had bought for her. Rumors had it that Sally left willy on grounds that he was not able to manage his weight. On the other hand, Willis discovered that his girlfriend was older than him by 5 years. Their breaking up had several versions of the story, other people alleging that things fell apart on cheating allegations.
