Cassper Nyovest Family
Cassper Nyovest’s real father is Letsebela Phoolo whereas his mother is Muziki Phoolo. He has two siblings, a sister (Tsholofelo Phoolo) and his late brother (Khotso Phoolo). Khotso passed on in the year 2003.

He went to Sol Plaatjie Secondary school for his secondary education. It was during this time that he developed profound passion for music, specifically rap music. As a matter of fact, he started rapping at the age of 12. After failing his Grade 10 exams in 2006, he moved to his grandmother’s house in Potchefstroom, South Africa.
Cassper dropped out of school in 2007 at the age of 16. Prior to his dropping out, he told his parents that he would rather chase his dream, which he believed was going to work out rather than playing it safe and regretting it his whole life.

Cassper Nyovest Career
After quitting school, Cassper moved to Johannesburg to pursue his musical career as a rapper as well as a producer. Prior to this, in 2004, he had actually formed a hip- hop group with his friends. The group was known as ‘Childhood Gangsta’ and he actually formed it when he was barely 13 years old.
This was followed by him leaving the group to join another group known as ‘Slow Motion’. The group, which had a total of 8 members, had the record producer Aashish Gangaram of Ganja Beatz as part of it. After moving to Jo’ Burg, he got signed by Impact Sounds, which is a motswako record label. He left Impact Sounds in 2008 to be a solo artist.
This prompted him to move back home. While he was performing at one time, he got discovered by the late rapper Hip- hop Pantsula. Shortly after, the two got together to making a song known as ‘WamoTseba Mtho’. While still at home, he got to create his own record label known as ‘Family Tree Records’ in 2014.
Before long, he got to release his debut single known as ‘Gusheshe’ where he featured Okmalumkoolkat. He released his second single, ‘Doc Shebeleza’ in 2014 as a mention for the renowned Kwaito artist, Doc Shebeleza. This was one of his greatest hit songs that took the music scene by storm. It even got to receive praise and recognition by fêted singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka.
Cassper got to release his debut album known as ‘Tshofelo’ on 18th July, 2014. He named the album after his sister who goes by the same name. This album received so much love, mentions and airplay.
After ‘Tshofelo’ did so well, Cassper was inspired to refurbish the album. Soon after, he got into the works that saw him collaborating with artistes such as Wizkid, DJ Drama, Casey Veggies and Anatii. This resulted to a platinum edition of the same album being released on 17th April, 2015. The album only had a limit of 10,000 copies printed.
In late 2015, Cassper announced that on 31st October, 2015, he was to have a concert at Ticketpro Dome, South Africa. He named the concert ‘Fill up the Dome’ since his aim was to fill up the dome, which at that time could accommodate only 20,000 people at full capacity.
He was also going to release his second album known as ‘Refiloe’ on the same day. Believe it or not, the tickets to the event were completely sold out. This resulted in him having similar events all over south Africa for the next couple of months.
He went ahead and more albums and songs. His other albums include Thuto (5th May, 2017) that had its lead single known as ‘Tito Mboweni’ which was named after the SA’s Minister of Finance and former SARB Governor, Tito Mboweni, Sweet and Short (2018). He had a comeback to his hip-hop self -early 2020 with a track known as ‘Good for that’.
